Urban Nerds’ resident grime and garage aficionado Ordio Kid kicks off an exciting new mixtape series titled Tower Tales. Aptly named The Bits, this first volume takes things back a couple years to grime, the genre that helped kick start all things Nerds way back when at 93 Feet East. For this mix, old favourites like Lee Brasco (who fired up the stage back at 93 many a time) meet legends like Ghetts and, Skepta, who’s recently raised the bar with his Hello Good Morning P.Diddy / Dirty Money remix, a reminder that for the hard workers out there, grime really is starting to pay. This tips its cap to the people still out there grinding on the base level of the underground scene, consistently producing prime cuts of unique kicks and snares representing the foundations of London’s unrivaled underground music scene. Ordio Kid mixes it up just right too.

Killa Kela is the ultimate, original, number one badman British beatboxer. He’s worked with the likes of Basement Jaxx, DJ Vadim and The Scratch Perverts, to name a few. Now, for one night only, Nerds & Barry are pleased to announce that the mighty motermouth himself is gracing the stage with a very special appearance at this Saturday’s Carnival Special!
And here’s the icing on the cake…we’ve done some digging and our google powers have dug up a sick, as yet unreleased (we think) track from Killa Kela & The Cool Kids and we’re gonna share it with you…
What with Bigger Than Barry being a right Northern bunch, we thought it was only fair they had a bit of team down to rep it on Saturday night! Not forgetting the countless gigs across Europe for the likes of Bugged Out, Bigger Than Barry, Hit ‘N’ Run and DubWorxx!
Now, Jayou brings his unique brand of bassy electronica to Urban Nerds VS Bigger Than Barry!

In honor of their imminent landing at Urban Nerds, we caught up with Supra1 for the lowdown on Poland’s finest bass mongers…
First off, why ‘Supra1′? Is there any connection to Supra trainers?
Nah, the name has nothing to do with trainers. It doesn’t have any real meaning to be honest, it’s purely abstract, we liked how the words ’supra’ and ‘1′ sounded together.
You both hail from Poland, what music did you grow up with?
We’ve been actually listening to a significant number of polish artists throughout the years – as we both come from musical families we’ve been exposed to the works of Tomasz Stanko, Krzysztof Komeda, Novi Singers, the list goes on. But not only, cause it was all really mixed up in the teenage years though. Everything from Wu Tang to The Clash, literally. Right know – as far as polish music is concerned – we’re both still hooked on polish jazz as well as fairly new techno / house producers like Jacek Sienkiewicz or Catz n Dogz, to name a few.
This week it’s all Glastonbury this, Glastonbury that, but if you’ve been left behind, forget Glasto and come and get drunk up with the Nerds crew this Saturday instead ‘cos House Party is back!
