This November, the 9th edition of House Party brings with it a return to the 4am license which means more late-night messiness. Yes yes! The line-up is also tantalisingly bass heavy as we welcome the mighty AC Slater, all the way from Brooklyn, NYC! If you’re not down with AC yet, check him out. His electro meets dubstep meets downright, ridiculously dirty deep bass style never ever fails to kick a party off. Bass face at the ready! Support comes from Urban Nerds boys Rattus Rattus & Klose Onewith their usual no holds barred take on underground UK beats and blips, plus future bass and D&B from Chew The Fat! hot tip, Randomer! There’s also big bad electro house from our pal Savage Henry, with Nerds fam Daddy Nature warming things up for the early birds with UK hip-hop, reggae and dubstep. Not half bad for a fiver!

We remember Goldie’s first appearance as a DJ…it was at Urban Nerds’ launch party in March 2007 at 93 Feet East and hit us with an eclectic blast of grime, dubstep and off-key dance classics in a set that went hand-in-hand with the open music policy Nerds begun to construct and one that would kick start  countless memorable DJ gigs for Goldie, offsetting a production career that in a very short space of time saw her work with Tinchy Stryder, Kate Nash and Mutya Buena, to name a few.

These days, when she’s not mentoring the next generation of beat makers at a youth community project in North London, Goldielocks can be found heading up her fresh imprint, Gut Instinct. Their latest release from West London producer Kashmir Kid (who joins her for a back-to-back set at The Macbeth this Saturday) is titled Return To Bombay City and comes at dubstep with a good dose of electro and future garage led synths and chords that promise to garner some well deserved airplay and rave re-loads, setting off Gut Instinct with a bang.

Not ones to miss a trick when it comes to the cutting edge in underground electronica, the purveyors of cool that are the Red Bull Music Academy picked up on Goldielocks some time ago, offering well needed support to a young Londoner trying to make it in the music game. A couple years down the line and Goldie’s a regular fixture on RBMA, who’ve recorded her live at a string of events from South London to Sonar.

Kashmir’s style fuses dubstep, future garage and funky, influenced by a taste for electronic underground production top dogs such as varied as MJ Cole and J-Dilla to Goldie. This gritty London banger has already had the support it deserves from the likes of Redlight, Seb Chew, Swindle and our very own Klose One and we’re sure it’s set to blow!
