With the festival season looming, Urban Nerds selector Rattus is back in the mix with a bunch of fresh bangers to kick off the summer madness!

As well as club favourites ‘Source 16′, Toddla’s latest ‘Take it Back’ (the Dillon Francis remix) and Mosca’s ‘Tilt Shift’, Rattus has dug deep to offer-up a fresh blend of underground beats from the likes of Scott Garcia, rising UK funky producer Sunday Roast and one of our favourite young bass and electro producers, Jayou.

You won’t be surprised to hear a ton of bass weight on this but Rattus has come up strong with some bouncy UK funky flavours and embraced the latest underground sensation Moombahton, making this the perfect sunshine accompaniment and a must for your iPods and stereos ahead of 2011′s festival madness!

In the run up to London’s UpRise anti-racism festival, long time Nerds fam Ordio Kid has put together a heavy warm-up mix ahead of his set at this year’s event!

This tasty blend of grime, electro, dubstep and funky vibes is laced with the latest rave smasher from Redlight, ‘Source 16′ as well as the dubbed out Jacques Greene remix of recent Katy B release ‘Broken Record’. In true Ordio Kid fashion these meet some old skool garage beats & blips and classic dubstep from Skream, topped off with a grimey edge courtesy of Firecamp and Royal T.

Decent mix to adorn your iPods and laptops ahead of the weekend and make sure you get down to this year’s UpRise: ‘Born out of the ashes of the former Rise festival, UpRise is a testimony of people power! We were extremely hyped to find out that the official video for UK funky dancefloor smasher ‘Deep In The Valley’ dropped today! Rudimental’s electro-led anthem ticks all the boxes with a classic funky hook and a touch of bass to boot, rounded off nicely with the catchy vocals of institutional UK funky MC and long time Marcus Nasty collaborator, Shantie (you can catch him on the mic in Marcus’ room at XOYO next Saturday)!

Rudimental is the latest recruit joining a fast growing list of London based bass merchants and the new era of underground producers that includes SKisM and RackNRuin on forward thinking label, Black Butter Records. Looks like they’ve pulled it out of the bag again with this one! Rattus Rattus and Klose One have been hyping it for a while and with the video out, we’re gonna be checking in for a daily hit over the coming week I’m sure. Check the sick video made by The London Grind, haven’t quite got our heads around the rabbit suits yet though…

Ahead of his room 2 takeover at XOYO on Saturday 26th March, we’ve got hold of a heavy live recording of Marcus Nasty in the mix, live at the SOME Night first birthday last year! The set was captured as part of the Red Bull Music Academy Radio On The Floor! series of live recordings that cover some of London’s finest underground club sets.

If you’ve caught Rattus Rattus behind a deck near you recently, you’ll recognise some of the sweet sounds on here, as he’s collated some of the best beats to drop this winter. Girl Unit’s future garage goodness ‘Wut’, Warrior One’s brilliant dancehall influenced ‘Lord of Bashy’, the True Tiger camp’s ‘Slang Like This’ remix and ‘Time Stamp’ from the one like Roska (Roska, Roska) all mark another ridiculous start to the autumn party season. Also keep your ears wide open for one of Rattus Rattus’ own riddim, electro bass bomb ‘Dutch Style’!

Spooky or if you want to get it right, Spooky Bizzle  is a versatile East London producer and DJ, forming part of much hyped grime collective, Slew Dem and an underground producer in his own right, on the grind with a series of hard-hitting grime, 2-step and bassline infused EPs and remixes that are laced with the sounds of the streets through and through. Through his own production outfit, ‘Ghost House’ and grime imprint Oli Gang, Spooky’s ‘Murderer’, ‘Quadrant’ and the take no prisoners ‘Darkside’ EPs come correct with unmistakably London bred beats and blips, ready to vocal by some of the scene’s most prolific MCs. With gigs at grime, bassline and funky dances across LDN and two weekly radio shows on Urban FM and Ice Cold, this man gets about, with missions paying off if the recent ‘Fresh Out The Box’ EP is anything to go by…it features slick chats from the self proclaimed king of grime, scene veteran and now chart topping Skepta alongside Nerds favourites O.G.’z, Merky Ace and rising spitters M.I.K.

Now Spooky Bizzle goes in the mix for Urban Nerds, with a taste of what’s to come at XOYO next week. As well as his own ‘Grime Slime’ and aptly named ‘Trick or Treat’, there’s bangers from fellow Urban Nerds Halloween spinners Terror Danjah, Joker and Doctor P, plus some classic cuts (it’s about time someone got ‘Midnight Request Line’ back on a mix)!
