Nerds Heritage

Urban Nerds hit London in 2007, taking over Brick Lane’s 93 Feet East to provided a new home to underground genres spanning grime, dubstep, hip-hop, drum ‘n’ bass, reggae, electro and beyond. They pride themselves on providing DJs who know their way around a needle and who love their sound and have hosted a wealth of talent, pushing some of the biggest line-ups in the capital with the likes of Goldie, MJ Cole, Shy FX, Zinc, Rusko, Jack Beats, JME and Skinnyman, to name a few. Three years down the line and the Nerds can count themselves part of the lucky few to have hosted room 3 at Fabric and room 2 at Matter. They’ve also collaborated with the likes of Mixmag, Time Out and the DMC World DJ Championships and in 2010 return to Europe’s biggest ski and snowboard festival, Snowbombing, as an official club partner.
Back in London and Urban Nerds are amongst the first on the bass scene to take the sounds of the underground out of the club, pushing boundaries with a string of sell-out warehouse events that regularly see 1500 clubbers dub-step their way through the night in unique, mind-blowing locations. Meanwhile, resident DJs Rattus Rattus and Klose One continue to evolve as two of the hottest DJs on the scene, clocking up bookings across the UK and recently featured with an exclusive guest mix on BBC 1Xtra for Redlight’s In New DJs We Trust show. Known for a great atmosphere and a happy, all-in party crowd, there’s really no one else who’s as nerdy about urban music as this lot!
