TONIGHT Urban Nerds and Bigger Than Barry bring the BASS to the Hewitt Street Car Park in Shoreditch, East London.

Killa Kela is the ultimate, original, number one badman British beatboxer. He’s worked with the likes of Basement Jaxx, DJ Vadim and The Scratch Perverts, to name a few. He’s toured the world, featured on countless commercials and shared a stage with legends such as Jay Z, Mob Deep, Busta Rhymes, Pharell Williams, N*E*R*D and Goldie Lookin Chain. Now, for one night only, Nerds & Barry are pleased to announce that the mighty motermouth himself is gracing the stage with a very special appearance at this Saturday’s Carnival Special!

On Thursday 14th October Red Bull team up with Camden’s Roundhouse to present the second installment of the mighty Culture Clash, coming back strong with the cream of London’s underground bass champions!
Drum & Bass pioneers Metalheadz rep it with label C.E.O. Goldie and his team of big, bad selectors, Andy C and Storm, alongside Urban Nerds favourite Shy FX (we’re crossing our fingers for jungle vibes) plus MCs Justyce and GQ.
Stepping up for dubstep are three of the scenes paramount creators and innovators, Magnetic Man trio Skream, Benga and Artwork, joined by the ‘Tron’ mastermind Joker and MC Nomad. Bass weight awaits!
The Dub and reggae hungry out there can look forward to deep, dark rumbles from Channel One Sound System, Ras Kayleb and Mikey Dread, as well as the truly legendary Soul Jazz Soundsystem.
Crossing the full spectrum of underground London’s rich musical heritage with the origins of the scene, Culture Clash is not to be missed. See you at the front!

In honor of their imminent landing at Urban Nerds, we caught up with Supra1 for the lowdown on Poland’s finest bass mongers…
First off, why ‘Supra1′? Is there any connection to Supra trainers?
Nah, the name has nothing to do with trainers. It doesn’t have any real meaning to be honest, it’s purely abstract, we liked how the words ’supra’ and ‘1′ sounded together.
You both hail from Poland, what music did you grow up with?
We’ve been actually listening to a significant number of polish artists throughout the years – as we both come from musical families we’ve been exposed to the works of Tomasz Stanko, Krzysztof Komeda, Novi Singers, the list goes on. But not only, cause it was all really mixed up in the teenage years though. Everything from Wu Tang to The Clash, literally. Right know – as far as polish music is concerned – we’re both still hooked on polish jazz as well as fairly new techno / house producers like Jacek Sienkiewicz or Catz n Dogz, to name a few.
