Az&Tor | Sit Back EP

Az&Tor consists of two people, Aisha Zoe and Rich Main, with growing popularity and plays amongst some big DJs, we finally get to check out their debut EP.

Released on the steadily growing label that is Madtech, which has names such as Citizen, Krystal Klear, Wave & Odyssey and Voyeur on the books. Az&Tors latest EP has been doing the rounds on a number of different radio shows over the last few weeks.

With support from the BBC Introducing series, including Skream & Bengas show, they’ve sparked up a lot of interest, and this debut EP really shows why. A 5 track EP with remixes from No Artificial Colours & young up and coming producer Polkadot, this EP oozes summer vibes.

The title track is a floaty keyboard layered beat, with a real summer feel to it, as well as some beautiful vocals from Aisha Zoe (one half of Az&Tor), the production on this is top notch with a real catchy hook. The remixes come courtesy of No Artificial colours who takes us down the more minimal route whilst maintaing that summer feel, before bringing in some bassweight. Polkadot brings a jacked up remix to the table with an old school 2 step Garage feel to it.

Carry Mine mixes in some delightful percussion that perfectly compliments Aisha’s voice, before letting some deep baselines wobble in the background, a nice little groover. Feels Like is one of those tracks you can instantly recognise, from the ‘TOR’ samples at the beginning to the to the distant Saxophone in the background, before it all merges together in an almost Burial-esque drop. Again, Aisha’s vocals really help this track flow.

A very impressive debut EP from Az&Tor, and judging by the reception they are receiving this won’t be the last we see of the duo.
