Urban Nerds Mix Of The Week & Interview | #UNMOTW

This week we’ve upped the levels. Not only do we have an exclusive mix for you to download and wrap your ears round but we’ve also got an interview to accompany it. This week we thank Monkey Wrench for kindly giving their time to create us a sweet mix to help kick start our weekends and for taking part in the interview so you can get to know them that little bit better.

For those that don’t know, Monkey Wrench are a trio of DJs/producers living in Bristol. There sound is a blend of beats, cuts, bass, vocal cuts and melodic elements and has already been spotted by the likes of B Traits on Radio 1′s ‘In new Djs we trust’, supported by Rinse FM’s Dismantle.

What has Monkey Wrench been up to as of late?

We’ve just had our debut release out on the American label Car Crash Set.

We held a little launch party for it in our flat a few weeks ago. It was live! We managed to get 100+ people through our front door….. The neighbours weren’t too impressed though.

Besides that, we’ve mainly just been going to University, trying to mix and make music as much as we can in our spare time.

Another thing we are looking to work on is our live sets. We want to get all three of us are involved at once, rather than the back to back DJ sets we currently play out.
