DMC launch Online DJ Championship

This week our mates over at the DMC World DJ Championships announced the launch of a groundbreaking project for the contest as it approaches no less than 27 years at the forefront of scratch and mix culture across the globe. On Thursday 3rd February the battlefield will open on the web, with the launch of the official DMC Online DJ Championship!

Contestants will be able to upload 2 minute performance clips which will be put to the public vote, culminating in a final shortlist as judged by the scrutinising eyes of existing DMC World DJ Champions. As well as a slew of impressive titles up for grabs, the 2011 Online Champion will win the ultimate prize of an all expenses paid trip to the 2011 World DJ Championships in London, where they will be eligible to enter the live event taking on the rest of the world’s national DJ Champions live on stage.

This bold move from the DMC crew will open up the unique yearly contest to thousands of budding mixologists worldwide and is set to secure the future of the art for many more years to come, as one of the most respected institutions of the DJ world goes digital in a big way!
