Blow Your Head | Diplo Presents: Dubstep

Mad Decent C.E.O. Diplo proves there really is no genre he can’t touch as the label turns its hand to dubstep, our homegrown British bass explosion that’s taken the  worldwide dance community by storm. This compilation pairs relatively new bangers like Circus Records man Doctor P’s infamous ‘Sweet Shop’ with last year’s much hyped James Blake remix of Untold’s ‘Stop What You’re Doing’. Unsurprisingly Diplo also shows some love for Mad Decent collaborator Rusko and there’s beats from Caspa, Joker, Skream, Starkey and Stenchman. Also, great to see classics on there like Benga’s ’26 Basslines’. This is a nice, rounded dubstep comp and a good antidote to the much played out rubbish the likes of Ministry are churning out and splattering all over our TVs these days. For those in the know however, it’s still not groundbreaking and it might just seem like Mad Decent are the latest label compilers to jump on dubstep’s ever expanding bandwagon. For those after a decent party starter or a bit of basic remix head-ucation though, you can go cop it from itunes or Amazon.
