At first, I thought of all the amazing tracks that have been released this decade, before immediately breaking out into a cold sweat. I can barely pick my favorite 10 tunes of this week let alone 10 years. So I decided to pick ten tracks that have punctuated my personal life and career over the last ten years. Therefore avoiding looking back and remembering all the tunes I’
d forgotten.
Love Locked The Siren Down – Hard House Banton Vs. Kanye West (Rattus Rattus Bootleg)
Out of all the edits and bootlegs I’ve made this one always gets the biggest reaction…
and I get to cheat and have two tracks!
Could This Be Real – Sub Focus
I had to put a little nod in to what is gonna be in my opinion one of the biggest Dance tracks of next year.
Deep Throat – Claude Von Stroke
I was about two years late on this track (due to being such a Garage head) but the first time I heard it dropped by the man himself I literally went a bit mental. I believe shortly after I was ejected from the club!
Fake Tales Of San Fransisco – Arctic Monkeys
Every time I hear this track it makes me think of all the assholes and people who chat shit that I meet on a daily basis. Please from now on can you all not bother talking to me.
Good Old Days – Mercston Feat. Ghetto
When James from Urban Nerds booked me for their first rave he said make sure you play ‘Good Old Days’. Taking it as a joke I thought nothing of it until 40 minutes into my set he came bounding over and asked, “When are you going to play ‘Good Old Days’?”
So for fear of getting in trouble I thought best put this on.
Bullacake – Dexplicit
This may officially be the only Bassline track you can play anywhere that never fails to make people go nuts.
Gotta Get Thru This – Daniel Bedingfield
After my first girlfriend broke up with me I remember going out and hearing this song for the first time. I’m sure it was supposed to fill with determination and make me feel better… It didn’
t. It still makes me want to poke her eyes out with a pencil.
Rhythm & Gash – Rebound X
To date I have accidently elbowed two people in the face, spilled countless drinks and ruined a relationship dancing to this tune. I wouldn’t stand next to me when it’
s played!
Warning – Skream (D1 Remix)
Still one of my favourite chilled out Dubstep tunes.
What Have You Done – DJ Wonder Feat. Kano
This was the first Dubstep(ish) record I bought and really turned me from a Grime DJ to playing a whole variety of other genres. I’
m pretty sure I only bought it originally because Kano was on it!

So a couple of weeks back we convinced DJ Zinc to tare himself away from his East End studio to give us a rare and exclusive on-camera interview. It’s no secret that the legendary producer is back on the dance scene in a big way, making movements both underground and overground with his self titled ‘Crack House’ beats and blips.
WIN: To celebrate the recent release of Zinc’s Crack House EP, we’re giving two lucky peeps the chance to win a signed Crack House CD and a limited edition Crack House t-shirt!
To enter, you’ve gotta answer this simple question (watching the interview might help):

a) 1998
b)2008
c) 2009
